Boy was I scared! My boss
almost fired me!
Several years ago, it was just
one of those weeks. I was drudging through work Monday, Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday and that infamous day of horror... Friday. My boss
called me into her office because I missed the deadline of preparing a
report. I tried all week to get the information I needed but there just
wasn't enough time to get it done.
So there I was standing, and
sweating thinking I was going to get fired. As she was lecturing me
about the importance of deadlines (which I already knew) I thought to
myself, "I'm not worried, I have other things in my life happening!"
So I let her blow her hot air and finish what she what saying. All
this time, I was thinking that I have a safety net outside of work
and that feeling of security made me feel a whole bunch better.
When she was done I left, with my job as a bonus!
The point of my story is that
even if I got fired, I wasn't worried. I could have easily left that
office without my job and it would have been good. It
was these techniques that I will share with you that helped me!
